Have you heard of Brilliant Labs? Surely, you've heard of the Hour of Code? Many of you know I teach Kindergarten. I wasn't sure how to incorporate advanced technology into a class full of four and five year olds whom, to be fair, aren't exactly writing code these days. So, I contacted Brilliant labs and asked for some help. When Jeff from Brilliant Labs came for a visit, he had my students coding all over the place, seriously. And he left us Meccano the robot (the super cool fella you see below) so we could continue learning about code all year long. Our robot still lives in his box, as you can see from the photo below. He's 600 pieces and our coding club will soon get to work on him with the help of some well-meaning Kinder kids and my own engineer husband because let's face it, they'll need more support than I can provide. Pardon the state of the radiator in that pictures, but if you've been into a school lately, that is simply the state of things. So, you can imagine how luxurious it felt to receive such a generous gift from Brilliant Labs when classroom supplies are few and far between. Stay tuned to see our progress with that handsome robot, who we've named Jeff, after our kind benefactor.
