I've often recounted the wisdom of Kate on this blog. In fact, the child rarely opens her mouth that some seriously quotable dialogue does not burst forth. Like, just this morning, for example when I asked her to wake up because it was time to get ready for school she said: "I would Mama, but my brain told my eyes not to open yet." Which is especially rich from a child who requires less sleep than most. So, when, as a member of Netflix's StreamTeam I was asked to recount a conversation I had with a little one regarding an episode of a show we watched together, I merely had to turn on Netflix, snuggle in with Kate, and wait. Kate chose to watch Batman: The Bold and the Brave (decked out as Spiderman, of course), I knew our conversation would be a lively one. Here's how it went down: Kate: Oh no! I fink dis Batman might not be stronger than a Trachiosauron! (Look, I don't know if that's a dinosaur or not, but that's what she said.) Me: I don't know, Kate. Batman is pretty strong. Kate: Strong like me or strong like Daddy? Me: (Now I had to think about this one, because though Kate worships her father, she's also convinced that she is a superhero. I took the safe bet) Strong like daddy. Kate: Oh, Poor Trachionsauron. Me: Why are you worried about the Trachiosauron, Kate? Why would Batman want to hurt him? Kate: He might need to eat. Happy Streaming!

It's not just that the artist uses reclaimed wood, or that he hand-builds everything to perfection in his small shop that makes me adore L'atelier D'Alfama. It's because he's Canadian, and handsome, but mostly the Canadian thing. In his bio he talks of building a headboard and a nightstand for his girlfriend (sorry ladies) and the reaction to his work was so positive he was moved to start his own business. This Montreal based artist discovered he loved building and has created a chic little shop where he sells these amazing custom reclaimed wood trays to his lucky customers. Do me a favour and Check out his shop and like him on Facebook. Of course, I have one, it's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm not sharing. It's exquisitely made and my only issue is deciding where to best show it off. Do you like wine? Sorry, silly question. The questions should be, "How much do you like wine?" Do you like it enough to appreciate these hilarious custom labels from iCustomWine? Of course you do, and what's more you likely want a chance to win a set of these brilliant labels. How will you use them if you win? Maybe you know a deserving teacher who has spent enough time with your busy children to deserve a bottle or two (I sure do). Perhaps you have a girlfriend who is feeling a little stressed lately or maybe it's you that deserves a bottle and a good laugh to go along with it. Either way, if you'd like to be entered to win simply like and share this post on Facebook and let me know you did in the comments. Winners will be notified via FB before the end of the day Friday. Cheers! |
