Visit this shop. Don't just read these words. Visit Vintage Amp Funk and browse around because you'll be hard pressed to find a cooler light shop anywhere. Nick, the artist/owner, has effortlessly cool style which is evident in his work. I fell in love with the Tesla Lab Lamp below but Nick was quick to suggest he make a brand new one specific to what I loved. The salvaged wood, the antique bulbs and the funky cord are perfect. It pains me greatly to give it away but I do what I must. Besides, maybe I will order this, or this, or these, to get my fix. I love these lamps in a home but their beauty should be enjoyed on a larger scale, as well. A chic restaurant or an office with character could really upscale their look with lighting like this. Well, now to the hard part. One of you lucky (and local) people will be taking my perfect, Nick-made, Tesla Lap Lamp 3 home. I say local because shipping this delicate beauty is too scary a prospect for me. I will leave that to the professionals at Vintage Amp Funk. Order yourself something. You deserve it. Do you want it? Of course you do. Share and like this post on Facebook or comment below (and be local, remember).

I recently taught myself to drink tea. It's an acquired taste for some, really it is. I have settled on lemon ginger tea. I've always envied people who've enjoyed warm tea in a beautifully handmade mug. I imagined them throwing a cozy knit blanket over their lap and reading from one classic or another. My lap is covered with my less than clever cat, Bill Bailey, and the tiny sugar crystals from the giant sour keys are lighting up yesterday's yoga pants as I type. I am indulging, as usual. I'd like to say it helps with the creative process but that would a lie and I haven't lied to you yet. The book on my end table is the classic: The Day the Crayons Quit but I have every intention of reading a classic very soon. My tea is warm and comforting none the less. Barruntando provided me with this dreamy whale mug to enjoy my new hobby of relaxing and drinking tea. I think it will serve me better than my old hobby; relaxing and drinking wine. Maybe, I'll get those cloud dishes for my sour keys. Oh the possibilities.
Of course you know I spotted that little heart and I was sold. MoxieandOliver make these gorgeous custom leather products and they were kind of enough to send us two brag books. The heart one is mine, and you can't have it, but they may have sent me one just as lovely to give away to you. Do you know why I love these, besides the finely crafted leather work and the heart, of course? I love these because I can't stand looking at your phone when you are showing me pictures! Get a brag book for goodness sake and let me see the photos they way they were meant to be seen. Besides, you know if I swipe too many times to the left I am going to see a photo you never intended me to see. The more dramatic of you, those of you like me, might love the journal you see below to write your ideas in. I imagine I could write some killer prose if I had that puppy. The tools matter, you know. They really do. Well, you know what to do, right? 'Like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. Good Luck. I'm guilty. So very guilty. I purchase loads of little plastic baggies and I use three to four a day in each of the girls' lunch boxes. I know this is bad for the environment and I know this is bad for the bank account. Snackaby has just offered an excellent and stylin' alternative. Reusable and DISHWASHER SAFE, these sandwich and snack bags are the only way to go. They velcro closed and come in all kinds of patterns. I would calculate the savings you'll have when you stop using plastic baggies but nobody told me there would be math. Just know, it will be a lot. Here is a little more math for you. The good kind, though. Jennifer at Snackaby wants to offer you 20% off of your entire order. I can do a mediocre job if I follow the directions with painstaking precision. It's rather painful so I have decided to leave the cooking to my husband and the sewing to Krystle at Ks Room. I wanted that teepee pillow desperately, when I discovered her shop, so I asked her for it. She was kind enough to send it to me and she also sent along that adorable owl for one lucky GoTeamKate follower. Krystal's sewing projects are so sweet. I love this, and this, and this, too! I can't bring myself to part with the teepee pillow (get your own here) but the owl is up for grabs. 'Like' this post on Facebook or comment below for a chance to win. Good Luck! I know, I know. I feature lots of alcohol related products here. I guess, I am condoning the responsible yet stylish use of alcohol. PM Glass Art sent me two whiskey glasses made out of Jack Daniel's bottles. They are kinda perfect for me, so that's pretty great. They sent you two Jameson Whiskey glasses like the ones you see below. They are made from the bottle. How cool is that? You don't HAVE to drink whiskey from them but I highly recommend it. If you're dry, and that is also an excellent choice, I like a little cranberry juice and a lot of Pellegrino. I am sure it has a name but I call it a Cranagrino. So, tell me then. Why do you need these glasses. They are going to cost me a fortune to ship so you better really want these bad boys. A like will get your name entered into the contest once but a comment on why you need these will get your name in twice. Good Luck! I think these little comfort boxes are genius. No bigger than a matchbox these tiny, artist illustrated messages will make your day, or better yet, someone else's. Kim's Little Monsters is the shop behind these creations. Check them out. They have a little something for every one who needs a pick-me-up. Imagine finding one in your mailbox at work or on your pillow when you go to bed. Sometimes it really is the little things. I am not going to tell you which ones I have because I am going to send them out to two people who like this post on Facebook or comment below. I know you'll love them. Planning a party? Technically, these might be more suited to a wedding but forget that. I am using these to celebrate tomorrow night. I have a handful. but oh, how I wish I had a truck load. There are so many possibilities. Do you have a pool? Fill your pool with these. How magical would that be. Invite me over, would ya? What would you do with these Magic Berry Lights? How about lighting up a cocktail? It's settled then, I'll do it. I'll be the one at the party tomorrow night with the strangely glowing Jack and Coke. Haha, yes! I found something that works better than laminated paper and velcro. Useful Buttons makes these chore/visual schedule buttons and they are magnetic! Take that PECS! Do you have a visual child? Autism or not, your child may be visual in nature and if so, these puppies are going to change your life. What I say: "Kate, it's time to get into the tub." What she hears: "_____________________________" No joke, that is how is works for us. We work really hard to get her receptive verbal skills up to par, but it's not going well, at the moment. Now, I show Kate what we are doing first and next using these buttons and they are easy for her to manipulate herself. So, thank you Karen at Useful Buttons, thank you so much! Who needs these as much as we do? I suppose I could spare a few ;). Like this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered to win. I wonder if they make these for husbands? |
