You don't have to go to the big box office supply store to get your classroom or scrapbook supplies. You can get handmade, clever, quirky and amazing decor from Good Child Crafts. See that little blonde cutie; the one that says "Nerds Rule"? How adorable would they be on every child's desk instead of a nameplate? Or, if you're like me, and desks are so yesterday, you could have a set for your bulletin board. Or maybe you like the superheroes. I was partial to the bees this time but I will be asking for a custom order once I get to know my students. Seriously, check out this shop. How does she do it?

Fine art, photography and a love of all things neon. Susan from Red Nickel might be one of the coolest artists we've featured yet. I am not just saying that because she is from Boston, either. Although, that doesn't hurt her cause. She likes letters, too. As you can see from those crazy cool magnets below. They are made from photographs of neon letters she has found in some of her favourite cities. You can read about her adventures here: rednickel.com/blog/ Her photography is really one of a kind. The paramount in Boston featured here is my favourite but you might prefer another in her shop. Check it out. She sent me two sets of those magnets so I could give a set to one you lucky dogs. You know what to do, right?! Do it. It's in the details. See these little push pins? Could they be any more adorable? If you're like me you have a bulletin board of some sort hanging in your kitchen and it is covered with a million reminders and a calendar and that calendar is barely recognizable with its bazillion appointments scribbled all over it. Well that overwhelming message centre just got a little more manageable and lot more attractive because Tables and Temari sent us these sweet chubby little birds to help keep it organized. You know what to do. 'Like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. This contest will close in twenty four hours. Good Luck! Do you want fabulous designs for yourself and your home? Of course you do. Check out Hello Tinge and spend some time browsing. You won't be disappointed. I can't really put into words how desperately I want this but my bank account feels differently. So, for now, I will settle for that navy clutch which is soon to be on order and that watermelon lunch bag they so kindly sent to me. These designs are unique, quirky and handmade. Basically these are the three characteristic I look for when shopping for decor. I just love when something makes me smile like the watermelon totem, which is going to be a huge step up from my usual grocery store bag lunch sac. Would you like a lunch bag to match mine? As much as Kate likes to be decked out in superhero garb her big sitter prefers high fashion. JulieAnne Original's custom-made, monogrammed outfits are perfect for her. See that sweet chocolate brown dress with the pumpkin detail below? Well, Miss Grace is praying for a breezy and cool early September so she can wear it for her first day of grade one. She just loves that is says her name. She loves it so much, in fact. that I am going to surprise the girls with these on Christmas Eve. Now don't fret because I am talking about Fall and even Christmas. There are still a few weeks of summer left, yet. I just like to be prepared because holidays in an autism house can be really tough. The more prepared we are and the earlier we talk about what will happen, the better off it goes. Can I get an Amen? I know, you know what I mean. Julie, the business owner, has decided that one of you fine followers deserves a dress for a little one that is special to you. She'll customize it, of course. See the rafflecopter giveaway below? Enter there. Come back to this post in twenty four hours to see who'll take home the big prize. Good Luck! I'm sorry, it has to be done. It is officially time to think about the Fall. Before you know it you'll be trading your flip flops in for some sensible apple-picking shoes and your lemonade for pumpkin spiced lattes. Don't fight it. Embrace it. And for the love of turkey, prepare for it. Zoey's Attic can help get you prepared with super cute personalized gifts. Yes, I am all about Autumn right now but they can hook you up with these or this or even this if you're really keen. I'll stick with the turkey inspired apparel for my girls, for now. I've bookmarked their blog so I can stay updated on their latest and greatest. I am a sucker for personalization so I'll need to know what's up. Now to the best part. Zoey's Attic wants to give you $35 dollars to spend at their shop. All you have to do is 'like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. This contest closes in twenty-four hours. Good Luck! If I were to be honest with you I would admit that my dream job involves art. Making art, buying art, curating art, studying art, you name it, it's what I want to do. It would suck to be the person who makes up names for nail polishes either, to be fair, but art makes me happy. Artists make me happy. Drops of Art is made up of two such artists. They spend their days creating fun and funky products. I fell in love with the wall calendar. It just struck me funny that three little men were dangling from it. It made me smile. I am positive you'll find a few things in their shop that'll make you smile, too. I'm guessing you'll like this, this and this one might even make you laugh out loud. For you, these lovely artists have sent a lovely hot air balloon brooch. Please 'like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. I don't know if I'm the genius for finding these or Jason at Chalk Blocks is the genius for creating them. Maybe, a little of both. Jason sells these as: Wedding Newborn Photography Props / Decor for the home. While all that is fine and great and the photographers are probably drooling over such a versatile prop, he missed a couple of very important markets. Teachers and Moms and Moms who are teachers; pay attention! We call it word work. We ask children/students to play with letters and words in the forms of magnets, tiles, play dough, etc. (the list is too long) and create and erase over and over. It's like a really frustrating version of scrabble but the children love it. Seriously, they can do it over and over and all the while they are learning to spell and the best part; they think they are playing! So throw in some chalk blocks and hand a child a brand new piece of that coveted teacher chalk and let them create words and terms that can be erased and manipulated again and again. If this doesn't sound fantastic to you, then you are either not a teacher, not a parent or not a child. Sure, there are other uses for these chalk blocks. Like, for example, you could leave a cryptic note for your spouse like "Buy More Wine" or "SRY ABT CAR". I will let you decide what would get them more riled up. Jason sent me twice as many as I expected so that means I have some for you. 'Like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. I would really be interested in hearing what you would do with your chalk blocks.
