I've often recounted the wisdom of Kate on this blog. In fact, the child rarely opens her mouth that some seriously quotable dialogue does not burst forth. Like, just this morning, for example when I asked her to wake up because it was time to get ready for school she said: "I would Mama, but my brain told my eyes not to open yet." Which is especially rich from a child who requires less sleep than most.
So, when, as a member of Netflix's StreamTeam I was asked to recount a conversation I had with a little one regarding an episode of a show we watched together, I merely had to turn on Netflix, snuggle in with Kate, and wait.
Kate chose to watch Batman: The Bold and the Brave (decked out as Spiderman, of course), I knew our conversation would be a lively one. Here's how it went down:
Kate: Oh no! I fink dis Batman might not be stronger than a Trachiosauron! (Look, I don't know if that's a dinosaur or not, but that's what she said.)
Me: I don't know, Kate. Batman is pretty strong.
Kate: Strong like me or strong like Daddy?
Me: (Now I had to think about this one, because though Kate worships her father, she's also convinced that she is a superhero. I took the safe bet) Strong like daddy.
Kate: Oh, Poor Trachionsauron.
Me: Why are you worried about the Trachiosauron, Kate? Why would Batman want to hurt him?
Kate: He might need to eat.
A mom like you.
