![]() Apostrophe Decals treated both of the girls to decals of their initials for their rooms. Their rooms are quickly starting to look like a page from a catalogue thanks to all these fine products we are receiving. I love the personalized items. Maybe, it's because growing up I could never find something with my name on it. Or maybe I am just vain. Either way I adore these name decals. I even put them on all by myself. They are straight and there are no bubbles. Alex put the stickers on a barbie plane once and I still can't look at it. Well, who wants one? Who needs one? Who's gotta have one. Give us a 'like' on Facebook and the winner will be put in touch with the shop owner to pick their own personalized decal.

![]() Yo-Yee Education sent us some sample packs of their flash cards. I don't use Flash Cards the way you might remember being 'Flashcarded' in school. I am not interested in a child's rote memory but instead their understanding of social situations. Yo-Yee Education's flashcards are large and laminated. These are a teacher's two deal breakers when it comes to school materials. They also come with a cd explaining how to use them in the classroom or the therapy room. I am currently using them as visuals for little Miss Kate who an extreme visual thinker and I also have a set at school to work with some of my social skills groups. I love the versatility of these cards. I have already adapted them to multiple lessons. I have tried multiple times prints version of these from the internet but reality is I don't have the time or the materials to make them as durable and functional as these cards. Could you find a place for these in your home or classroom? What would you use them for? I'd love to share. Remember, if you don't win the giveway Yo-Yee offers FREE worldwide shipping! ![]() Here's a fun fact. I love anything with hearts on it. I have always been drawn to hearts. I often purchase things in heart shapes or with heart prints. I think it's because they look like bums. Kidding, sheesh, I just think they are sweet. I loved this print as soon as I saw it. Sam at Sam's Simple Designs was kind enough to send us a few prints and now I can share with you. Do you have a favorite? It really has become so simple to decorate your walls with really great modern prints. You are no longer held hostage by 'Live, Love, Learn" or worse "Keep Calm and...." There are so many choices out there. Let your walls reflect your style. ![]() The lovely folks at Herb and Root sent a little treat just for me. I am a bit of a product junkie and I think it might be because indulging in things like this can happen so rarely for a parent. These deluxe bath oils are lined up on my bathroom counter and I hope to get through all of them by Christmas. I have already tried one of these luxurious oils and I truly felt like I was at the spa. These are handmade and not packaged in some factory full of chemicals you cannot pronounce. You must try these! I don't want to make any assumptions about GoTeamKate followers but they also make an edible version. You know the drill by now. I'll be sending a sample set of these oils to one of you guys on Tuesday. Who's it going to be? ![]() Innovativestencils is responsible for this stunning wall decal. Some might enjoy this for its beauty alone but I can't help but love its second purpose: covering up the paint nicks and fingerprints that cover my walls. This one might be more appropriate for a child's room but check out the designs below. Can you imagine what I could do to my classroom? The reviews are not turning out to be a lucrative as expected because I am going broke buying up other pieces of their stock. Oh well, it's to be expected. I once worked at 'The Body Shop' in Scotland and took home more product than pay check. Well, who needs a gorgeous cherry blossom tree for their little one's room? Since the girls love to draw names out of the vase we'll go with a 'like' on Facebook to be entered. ![]() I would imagine you are hard pressed to see anything related to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and not think of our Kate. It's true, she was born a ninja and she finds comfort in watching these guys protect the city streets. The radical dudes at Posteritty thought Kate might enjoy a fine art print of her heroes in her room. Now she can gaze up and think of her masked friends as she falls asleep holding tightly to Master Splinter. I am more partial to the prints below but they are easily enough attained. Which is your favorite. It might tell me quite a bit about you. Are you surprised to see my choices? (There is no Jay-Z, I checked.) Who has a turtle lover at home? Let me send you one of these prints because once again they were kind enough to send me two. A like will get you entered. ![]() I love it, I love it, I love it! Isn't this the sweetest thing? It's a dry erase board and it's magnetic. No more boring white boards for us. I am going to write sweet messages to Alex on it every morning. Just kidding, I'll be writing a reminder to him that we need wine. Karen Olks, the artist at Magna Memos sent us two of these gorgeous memo boards with this colorful bird design. I just can't decide if I want it in my classroom or my home. Now I am wondering if she could make giant ones for the classroom so we could get rid of these old chalkboards. So many possibilities. I have a feeling that this contest might get a little intense. So, in the interest of keeping it relaxed let's just ask for a 'like' on Facebook. You'll be entered into a draw for one of the Magna Memos boards to be drawn by Miss Kate later this evening. Good Luck. ![]() Lately, my reviews have had little to do with autism. This should probably come as no surprise because one of the things we might need most of all is a little break from all things autism. I haven't forgotten, however, where this all started, and I really wanted to make sure I review some items that can make our lives, as autism families, a little easier. FirstNextLast, sent GoTeamKate a number of samples from their Deluxe Visual Schedule Book for Daily Routines. Very recently we started using the visual schedules with Kate and it has made a world of difference for us. Bedtime has gone from being violent to being calm. She might still try to pull a few fast ones but no one raises their voice and best of all, no one get bitten! Even if your children have language please understand that extreme visual thinkers like our Kate can benefit so much from products like this. Who wants (scratch that)...needs these samples as much me? You know what to do. ![]() Are you kidding me right now?! Yes, I have these in my house. I can only be so strong for so long. I am actually finding it physically painful to walk on by such tempting treats. So.... I didn't. Ha, I helped myself. I am pretty sure my twenty minutes of indulgence was as close to Heaven as I will ever get while on earth. If you were unfortunate enough to be looking in my kitchen window you might have seen a depravity that shocked you but I assure you that every bite was savored and appreciated for I know tomorrow is a new day, and a day without chocolate, so I had to make everything of today. Too dramatic, for you? It's the chocolate. It makes me theatrical. These Chocolatiers are from my part of the world so I am especially fond of their high end, handmade sweets. Would you like to try some? Of course you would. Give this post a like on Facebook or comment below and we'll enter your name into a draw to win a lovely package of these gourmet sweets. You know how my chocolate contests run, right? I must choose a winner quickly in order to ensure the prize will still be available. I'm only human, after all. ![]() This is an intervention. Look around at your kitchen walls. Do you see anything in the following colours: dusty rose, winter green or burgundy; or any combination of the three? Remove it. Secondly, do you see anything with wooden pegs holding ceramic hearts? Remove it. In its place you are going to place one of these fine prints from Susan Newberry Designs. Maybe you're thinking, who is she to tell me how to decorate my kitchen? And, rightfully so, considering I have more fingerprints on my walls than art but in the spirit of being helpful I think it might be time to leave the early nineties where you found them and explore the world of typography and printmaking. If you like wine, and I know you do. You need this beautiful print hanging in your kitchen. If not for any other reason than having a list of what you need to pick up at the liquor store this evening. If you want it give this post a 'like' on Facebook and we'll enter your name into the draw. |
