Okay, I will admit it. I am a digital girl in a digital world. I have a proper watch but I use my phone to tell time. I know I am not alone, right? Well, until I discovered HomeLoo I didn't really see a need for a traditional clock in my home. Now, I want one in my house and in my classroom. Aren't they beautiful? I have the bamboo beauty below. I am also in love with the retro acrylic styles. Which is your favourite? If you can look past that absolute doll in these photos you'll see gorgeous hand sewn backpacks, so vibrantly coloured and well made that they are fit for a princess just like her. Coral Candy Shop makes these bags and back packs and with school just around the corner (trust me that hurts me more than it hurts you) you're going to need to figure out if your little one is going to fit in or stand out. You could go with the standard 'character of the month' pack from your local big box store or you can visit a little shop in England here and get a backpack worth adoring. She sent me that owl backpack below. It is even sweeter in person. It has a stylish polka dot lining and big button eyes. While I wanted to keep it all to myself, I decided I knew a little girl who might fall in love with that little owl so off it went. Maybe, you're wondering why I didn't give it to one of my girls. They certainly wanted it, after all. The answer is this: they have too much! We are working on that. I do have a little prize for you. It's the matching bag to this owl backpack. You could give it to a deserving child or keep it all to yourself. I'll leave it up to you. Please like this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. Oh, this artist. She has what I never will. Style. Color Story Designs creates shadow boxes that I would kill for. Look at the honeycombs! Do you know how seriously 'in' honeycombs are right now? My heart yearns for the stegosaurus because we've talked before about how I love dinosaurs more than an adult should. Everyone has something, right? As a teacher, I had to have the magnets. Not only are they super cute and versatile but my students will be all over learning the 'facts to 10' with them. I think I might despise pencil and paper work more than any student could, so if a fine artist like Amy is willing to send me some awesome manipulatives for my students, I am in. You can put them on your calendar board if you must, but I will be adding them to my growing collection of school tools. Would you like a set? This is the year that you and I are going to start shopping early and get it all done well in advance of the holiday. Ok, maybe that's a lofty goal. Let's get a few things done though, ok? If you're reading this, and firstly thanks so much for that, you most certainly have a child or children in your life that you adore. If you don't, then no doubt you've fallen in love with our Kate. She's a worthy surrogate for those who don't have a child close because I promise she loves you, too. I've found the perfect gift for those little children, although please don't send one to Kate as she has been gifted one already. (It speaks volumes to me that I must often warn you not to be so generous because so many of you are.) House of Clouds Shop makes these precious wall lamps to help sooth your little ones to sleep. The soft glow and the sweet designs are perfect for your favourite little person's room. If I am being honest, I'd have one of those funky little houses in my room, too. These soft, handmade, elegant and dreamy little lamps are one of a kind. I am struggling to find words enough to express how special I think these lights are. Of course, I have one to give away and we'll get to that but in case you don't win you might want to get one ordered soon so you can tuck at least one perfect Christmas present away. If you'd like to be entered to win one please 'like' this post on Facebook. For two entries comment below. For three entries share this post. This contest will closes in twenty-four hours. Good Luck! Magical, dreamlike, enchanted. Just a few words that come to mind when I look at the work of Scott Mills Art. It was the bear that caught my eye. I teach a particular little guy who would love this bear. He would appreciate this bear and the forest growing on his head more than any of us ever could. I wanted this bear for that little guy so I contacted Scott Mills and told him. Guess what? Not only did he send me two copies of this print but he shared that he had worked with adults with autism and down syndrome for seven years. So, this artist just took top spot in my heart, and likely yours. Not that you needed more reason to obsess over his spellbinding artwork. Why don't you check out his Facebook page here. Tell him I sent you. Here is a direct quite from this talented artist: "They are some of my favourite people on earth and greatly responsible for art becoming a much bigger part of my life." Some day, I am going to own the original version of this, because it is so brilliant I can barely cope. Now, one copy of that sweet bear that slept a little too long is going to the student that inspired me to contact Scott but the other one is all yours. Is that too dramatic? If you teach or work with children in any way you'll understand. The Pompous Planner's sarcasm spoke to me with their "Just as Planned" planner. If you've ever spent a lot of time and too much of your own money planning a lesson that you had to scrap just minutes in because of some reason or another, you'll understand why this planner needs to be on my desk come September. If your lessons always go as planned then you...haha just kidding, I can't even finish that sentence. Of course, they don't always go as planned. Use coupon code '10 Percent Off' for, you guessed it, 10% off. ;) I love, love, love Lotthilde and her fabulous backpacks. We've been corresponding for a few weeks in German! It's great fun to get her emails and pop them into a translator. I'm guessing she does the same with mine. She sent us two of the packs you see below. Handmade, unique and adorable. You can have them personalized with your child's name, too. Finally, a pack that is different. Just drive by a school bus stop and you'll see what I mean. Would you like to take one home? Please 'like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. Here is what she says about her own shop. I just love this language. Now you get to use a translator, too: Hier findest du Rucksäcke, Taschen und viele andere Accessoires für Kinder, welche ich aufwendig in Handarbeit für dich anfertige. It's no secret that I adore art and artists. This is why the products we love section is comprised of many Etsy shops. We've had some big businesses knock on our door but until Dyson comes calling we just aren't interested. Yoote is one of those rare shops where I adore every single print they produce. Someday, when I am a published children's author (right?!) I will be knocking on this door and begging her for some illustrations. My favourite, in the entire shop, is the whale print you see below. If you look really closely you can see there is a black car at the head of ship in the background. It is perfection. I could write an entire story about that whale and that cat. Maybe, I will. Maybe, someone already did. Would you like a copy of this whale print? Of course, you would. How silly of me to ask. Please 'like' this post on Facebook or comment below to be entered. Lisa Perez, the artist behind these phenomenal wood transformations is the talent behind Red Rabbit Gallery. Just look at what this woman is capable of. Can you imagine what her house must look like? I will try and get us an invite. Outside of stalking my new favourite woodworker I am currently spending time enjoying my new wine rack. Check this out. Go ahead, click on the link back there. Put your credit cards away because she already sold it to some genius who is probably having the best party right now! Isn't that amazing? Actually, get your credit card back out because I bet Lisa would make you one of your very own and if you're like me and your credit card would laugh and laugh if you tried to spend that kind of money you can get the more affordable this, this or even this. |
